Coffee grind size chart espresso

Espresso sits in the fine band, but not every fine grind is espresso-ready.

A useful chart keeps espresso close to Turkish on the fine end, while still leaving room for moka, AeroPress, drip, and pour over farther out.

Read the shot, not only the chart

• If the shot runs fast, move finer.
• If the shot stalls, open the grind a little.
• If the flow is close but sour, nudge finer before changing the dose.
